FAQ

All of our appointments are generally scheduled for 30 minutes, however the first appointment is generally longer as we need to conduct a through assessment. We strive to maintain one physiotherapist to one patient to deliver the highest attention and quality of care to each and every one of our patients.

There are ample free public parking  spaces around both Carlingford and Norwest clinics. This fluctuates around busier times of the day, so make sure you arrive early especially if you have trouble walking longer distances.

In most cases, you are not required to bring anything to the appointments. However, it may help to bring along any medical forms, imaging reports or referrals that are related to your injury. Also, please bring your health cover card as we need to swipe it to claim on the spot.

If you are unsure of what you need to bring, you can leave us a note on your online booking, or call and ask our friendly staff for any further help.

If you live in the neighbouring suburbs of either of our Carlingford or Norwest clinics and are unable to attend an appointment in the clinic, we can send a physiotherapist to your address. To book a home visit, simply give us a call and our staff will discuss further details including costs for your appointment.

No – you do not need a doctor’s referral to see a Physiotherapist. The only time you need a referral is if you want to claim the cost of your treatment through Workcover (i.e. you injured yourself at work), Veteran’s Affairs, Medicare (you need an Enhanced Primary Care Plan) or 3rd Party Insurance (i.e. a car accident insurance claim). Referrals are not required for patients paying privately or using a private health fund

For your convenience we provide the HICAPS system for on-the-spot processing of private health fund rebates (if you are covered for physiotherapy by your health fund you just swipe your health fund card, your rebate is processed automatically and you only have to pay the difference). Payment is required at the time of treatment and we accept cash, MasterCard, Visa and EFTPOS.

No Payments needed for patients with approved insurance claims like Workcover, CTP (Transport accident Commission), NDIS and patients covered under  DVA.

Fee for the first appointment is $95 and the fee for standard / follow-up appointment is $90, for all privately paying in clinic patients.

Occasionally, our physiotherapists may recommend exercise or mobility equipment that may assist in your recovery, which may incur further cost. Also, if you have complex injury involving multiple areas, you may need longer treatments.  You will be informed in advance on whether you will require such equipment or treatment, and will definitely be notified if it will be charged on top of the regular price of your appointment.

Some chronic conditions are subsidised by Medicare for Physiotherapy and a doctor’s referral is required with a ‘Enhanced Primary Care” (EPC)  Plan for  Chronic Disease Management (CDM) for claiming Medicare benefit. Medicare does not provide complete bulk billing, however Medicare subsidises such treatments heavily and provides medicare benefit where the patient pays a small gap.

We treat such patients during weekdays between 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The physiotherapy treatment is carried out  as per medicare guidelines and you need to specify your GP name and EPC/CDM details while booking. Please bring your EPC/CDM referral letter and you can  claim your Medicare Bulk Billing benefit on the spot with our HICAPS machine to save you from the hassle of claiming with Medicare.

If you are running late then please call our clinic to let them know so the physiotherapist can try to plan their diary to accommodate you, or you may be able to reschedule your appointment to later that day. If you are unable to attend your appointment then we require at least 24 hours’ notice otherwise a cancellation fee may be charged. We ask clients to make every effort to keep their scheduled appointments to avoid us having to turn other clients away when we are fully booked.

We accept payment directly from WorkCover, Veterans Affairs and Medicare. For each of these you need to have a referral from your nominated treating doctor and all necessary paperwork from your employer or the insurance company. With Medicare the access to physiotherapy is strictly limited and your GP must confirm that you are eligible and fill out the appropriate paperwork before treatment can be started. Once all of your paperwork is in place then we are able to deal directly with these organisations and there is no cost to you.

Comfortable clothing is recommended for your treatment sessions. This allows access to your injured area for effective assessment and treatment. Your modesty and privacy are extremely important to us and are fully protected at all times.

There are no stairs needed to get to our treatment room at both Carlingford and Norwest Clinics. Carlingford facility is located at the ground floor and Norwest facility is at first floor with lift access. If you are too immobile to attend the clinic please consider our home visit service.

Of course this is ok, we welcome the support of family members as this aids in the healing process. We have plenty of chairs in the treatment room for you to be able to sit comfortably whilst your relative is being treated.
